| Anna Faris Biography
Anna Faris was born in Baltimore, Maryland on November 29, 1976. She is of Scottish, Irish, English, German and French Decent. When Faris was quite young, her parents, Jack and Karen, moved the family to Edmonds, Washington, just north of Seattle. Her parents always encouraged Faris to act, and she acted in her first professional stage performance at age 9 at the Seattle Repertory Theater. Faris attended Edmonds Woodway High School, and then studied English literature at the University of Washington. After she graduated she lived in London to work and write, but after filming 'Lover's Lane' and a short for the Seattle Film Festival, she decided to move to Los Angeles. Once she had settled in LA, she signed with an agent and before too long she was cast in the lead roll of Scary Movie, the film that would make her famous. Faris played Cindy Campbell in the movie which was a parody of multiple other films. Faris went on to reprise her roll in the film's four sequels which were released in 2001, 2003, 2006 and the last will be released in 2008. After appearing in the first two Scary Movie films, Faris was seen in the grim comedy, May, as well as Rob Schneider's, The Hot Chick, both released in 2002. In 2003 she had a small and comedic roll in Sofia Coppola's Lost in Translation, starring Scarlett Johansson and Bill Murry. In 2002 and again in 2004, Faris voiced characters for episodes of the hit animated series, King of the Hill. Also in 2004, she played the reoccurring roll of the dumb, but loveable, Erica in the final season of Friends. She played a young girl who was giving her baby to Monica and Chandler to adopt. Continuing to shine in comedic rolls, Faris was seen in the film, Waiting... also starring Ryan Reynolds and Justin Long. That same year, Faris was able to show her talent for drama with a small part in Brokeback Mountain. Returning to comedy, she played annoying socialite, Samantha James, in Just Friends (2005). In 2006 she appeared alongside Luke Wilson and Uma Thurman in My Super Ex-Girlfriend. She will next be seen in Mama's Boy with Jeff Daniels and Diane Keaton, and Smiley Face with Adam Brody and John Cho. Faris married actor Ben Indra in 2004, whom she met while working on Lovers Lane and had dated since 1999. |
